The 100 Acre Wood is an optional world based on the fictional locale of author A. A. Milne and Disney's twenty-second animated feature, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. It is notable in both Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts II as a "world within a world" because it is entered through a book in Traverse Town and Hollow Bastion/Radiant Garden, respectively. The world takes the form of a magical book located in Merlin's house. As Sora collects Torn Pages, new areas of the 100 Acre Wood become available as the story is retold. It appears in Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories and, maybe, in the new Kingdom Hearts Coded of 2009.

When Sora enters the book, he lands on a version of the flat map of the 100 Acre Wood. Classic locations such as Pooh and Piglet's House appear as well as the Muddy Path and Spooky Cave. In each location is usually a minigame with prizes which help Sora on his journey.

Piglet is well-known for being extremely timid due to his small stature. Piglet regularly convinces himself that he is too small to make much of a difference in most situations. However, Piglet's friends often help him realize that he has a lot of potential greatness stored inside of him; he simply needs to find the right way to let it out. Piglet is usually the first to panic in a stressful situation, using his big, floppy ears to cover his eyes in fright. But once he has calmed down, he usually manages to put forth some worthy suggestions for solving the problem at hand (although his friends sometimes downgrade his ideas, suggesting that his radically different perspective hampers his view of what is really happening). Piglet has great admiration for Pooh, who he views as his best friend in all of the Hundred-Acre Wood.

Gopher:

Gopher is a resident of the 100 Acre Wood. Though the 100 Acre Wood has been in the previous games, Gopher did not appear until Kingdom Hearts II. He was first met in PIglet's House. Of all residents, he is the only one who literally lives underground, and digs through the ground to make a living. During the Hunny Slider mini-game, Gopher helps by acting as a buffer between Pooh and pieces of wood or other obstacles.

He made his first appearance in Kingdom Hearts, alongside with Roo to train Sora how to "jump", which requires jumping on a specific tree coordinate and reach to the finish line. Tigger mostly uses Rabbit's farm as a jumping spot, therefore ruining his vegetables, much to Rabbit's chagrin.

Tigger's original voice actor, Paul Winchell, was already long retired even before the Kingdom Hearts series was conceptualized and did not reprise the role, all the more in II as he had already died in the time period between the releases of Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts II. Tigger is instead voiced in both games by Jim Cummings, his current official voice-actor, who also in the games voices Winnie the Pooh, Pete and others.

Kanga is Roo's kangaroo mother, very gentle and a typical mother figure.

When she first appears, she hears from Piglet that Pooh has forgotten everything about his friends and makes a medicine in attempt to restore his memory, but Tigger takes it, thinking it is a present to him. Though they get it back, Pooh never drank the medicine.
